When the right next step is human review
A system that keeps work moving also needs to recognize when it cannot establish the next step. Human review should be a deliberate part of the product experience.
Distinguish a finding from a conclusion
A record may be missing because a transfer failed, because processing is delayed or because the available data is incomplete. The finding should say what the system observed before it offers an interpretation.
The proposed experience separates known facts, supporting evidence and uncertainty. That gives a reviewer something concrete to confirm or challenge.
Carry the investigation into the handoff
An escalation should include the records compared, the checks already completed and the reason an automatic response stopped. The reviewer should not have to reconstruct that work.
A useful review prompt names the unresolved decision. For example, it might ask someone to confirm which destination record belongs to an order when two plausible matches remain.
Use the result to improve a shared workflow
A review outcome may reveal a missing operating rule, a connector limitation or a test case the product should cover. Those lessons can improve software and evaluations across deployments.
Customer records should remain isolated. Reusing a better method does not require treating one customer’s private data as a shared training asset.
A good escalation makes the decision smaller and the evidence easier to assess.
