Make the handoffs easier to follow.

When work moves between CRM, logistics software, customer communications and internal tools, the connection is only part of the problem. Our software engineering work maps the process, clarifies ownership and builds the integrations and missing functionality around what needs to happen next.

Where the handoff becomes hard to follow

An important task can cross several systems before anyone sees the whole picture.

  • Context in different places: People reconstruct the same request from messages, records and separate tools before they can move it forward.
  • Ownership between teams: A change reaches the next system, but responsibility for checking it or resolving a mismatch is unclear.
  • An uncertain outcome: An attempted action leaves a history entry. The team still needs to establish what actually changed at the destination.

Build around the whole operation

One business process can cross many systems. The operating rules should still be clear. A defined integration project can include process assessment, implementation and testing. Ongoing software maintenance, exception review and automated-workflow support are agreed separately.

  • Map information and ownership: Follow the process with the people doing the work. Agree the authoritative records, the access needed and the owner of an unresolved case.
  • Make the operating rules explicit: Define how records are compared and transferred, including normal delays, duplicate checks and the decisions that need review.
  • Check the resulting state: Build the agreed connection, test the difficult cases and retain the evidence needed to understand the result and support recovery.

See the handoff in context

Illustrative studies of a request, its records and the next decision.

  • From a request to a responsible owner: Bring the source records into reach and make the next review easier to understand.
  • From an attempted change to evidence: Compare the expected and observed states before treating a handoff as complete.
